Sharon Watkins, den första kvinnliga ledaren för ”the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)”, en protenstantisk sekt, har fått äran att utföra en full ritual (gudstjänst) på söndagen som avslutar installationsveckan. Sedan kommer Ingrid Mattson, den första kvinnliga ledaren för ”the Islamic Society of North America” att be i National Cathedral. Detta tillsammans med tre rabbiner som representerar den amerikanska judendomens tre huvudgrenar. Det är också tradition för den katolske ärkebiskopen att be en bön, samt för den blivande presidenten att besöka en gudstjänst i S.t Johns kyrka innan installationen. (Allt enligt AP.)

Frågan är dock om Obama på det här sättet verkligen säkrat det övernaturligas stöd? Hinduer, buddhister, sikhher, konfucianer, asatroende, taoister, shintoister, shamaner, animister och inte minst voodooprästinnor lyser med sin frånvaro.
